ProPublica
“ProPublica is an independent, non-profit newsroom that produces investigative journalism in the public interest. Our work focuses exclusively on truly important stories, stories with “moral force.” We do this by producing journalism that shines a light on exploitation of the weak by the strong and on the failures of those with power to vindicate the trust placed in them.”

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation will be working in parallel with NYU and ProPublica as we all try to advance the art and science of the journalistic explainer.  The ABC, founded in 1932, is Australia’s public broadcaster. From January to May 2010, its ABC Innovation unit will be producing model explainers and experimenting with new tools as we do the same on our side of the world. The hope is that can we all learn more that way. The ABC will then share what it has learned at Explainer.net.
